We enjoyed spending an afternoon in Maitland, Nova Scotia, for Launch Day which is a celebration of the launch of the WD Lawrence tall ship over 100 years ago in 1874. (VIDEO below). It is volunteer community spirit at its best. The ship had a little tilt to one side because the ballast shifted while transporting. Aside from locals dressed in their best from the mid 1800’s, there was a blacksmith, and some rum related humor, choir, bagpiper, town crier, politicians.
